10 Facts That You Might Not Know About Me

I'm not the most interesting person in the world, but to get to know me a little better, here's 10 things you might not know!

1. I can play two musical instruments

When I was younger, my older brother and I took piano lessons. Since middle school, I've learned and played the saxophone. Through high school and a little bit of college I was also in the marching band! #BandNerd. Fun note: I still have the saxophone I played with too

2. I've only broken one bone

In my entire life, I've been safety and caution queen. I am probably a little over-protective, which is why I've probably only broken one bone. It was my pinky on right hand. It still pokes outward from the rest of my fingers too. It happened when I was a kid, while trying to catch a ball thrown in the air. Bounce right off my finger and broke it. Oops!

3. I've never had a cavity or worn braces

Never have I ever had a cavity. Oh my gosh, and I kinda wish I had, because going to the dentist now is stressful. I'm always afraid my dentist is going to say he needs to do a filling or something dramatic and I won't know how to prepare myself for it. I don't think there's anything special with my oral hygiene, I think I just got REALLY lucky with my dental health.

4. I'm allergic to ant bites

Ugh, I hate ants. It's so annoying to get bitten by an ant. The only way to protect yourself is to just be aware of your surroundings, and every time I let my guard down, I get bitten. Thankfully, it's not as severe as some allergic reactions go, but I always stay prepared with antihistamine. 

5. I do not have perfect vision

I don't have 20/20 vision and wear contacts mostly. The glasses I own are super outdated and I am currently researching for replacements. I have some blue light blocking glasses that I'll be investing in soon, more to come on that later.

6. I was born and raised in Arizona

I have not met many other people who can say that same thing.Some of you may have already known this, because I've mentioned it in previous posts. My husband and I moved to North Carolina a few years ago, but are back in the sunny valley.

7. I have never been to The Grand Canyon

I know...I know. It's on my to-do list. I figured before we moved to North Carolina that I had all the time in the world to go there. Now that I'm back, I've got the itch to explore and learn more about this state.

8. I went to Arizona State University

I studied Business Administration and English Literature. Go Devils!

9. I'm a Scorpio, born in 1988

Wow, that feels like forever ago! Technically, that's two facts, but I think they go hand in hand.

10. I'm a stay-at-home mom with one child, Ryan

That seems like a giveaway, but I stay at home full time with Ryan. My only other job is a wife to my husband, Alex. I blog part-time right now, but as this hobby grows, I hope to make it full-time with my other two careers :)  Among other things, I've worked at a winery, a bank and a small IT company (though, not all at the same time and same place).
