Favorite Toddler Toys
Since the holidays are around the corner, I thought I'd share some of Ryan's recent favorite toys. He's 18 months old right now, and enjoys playing with all of these.
Fat Brain Toys Dimpl
This toy is relatively inexpensive, "simple yet brilliant!" When I'm running out of the house, but know I could use a toy to entertain Ryan later, I'll throw this lightweight toy in my diaper bag. It quickly became popular with our friends' children and family!Melissa & Doug Match & Roll Shape-Sorter
Next, is one of my favorites. The Melissa & Doug Match & Roll Shape-Sorter is a sturdy, elegant and exciting toy. It took some practice, but Ryan really likes this toy. He can successfully match all of the colored blocks to their shape hole and we're even working on saying the colors together!Galt Pop Up Toy
We received this toy as a gift and I couldn't be more surprised with how much a toddler is entertained by it! These fun little "wooden guys" (as we lovingly call them at home) often find themselves squashed in between the sofa cushions playing hide and seek. But they are amusing to spring up and out and help Ryan practice his hand-eye coordination trying to put them back inside.
Hands down, Ryan's favorite toys for months have been his wooden puzzles. He plays with them every day. He stands the pieces up on the table, mixes multiple puzzles together, and has been practicing his animal sounds! We've gifted these to friends and hope they get as much enjoyment as he does.
Baby Koala: Finger Puppet Book
So cute! I saw this in the store and not only did I get excited, but Ryan lit up when the koala "came to life." I like that there are multiple books in this series. We also have Baby Elephant and Ryan loves to give the animals little kisses on every page.
Fisher-Price Rock-a-Stack
Last but not least, the tried-and-true ring stack. It takes some skill to realize that the rings will only fit if you put them on in order. No bells and whistles, this classic toy has been around because kids enjoy playing with it! Fun to chew on, pretty bright colors, and easy to play with.
